NeYo

Ne-Yo, de son vrai nom Shaffer Chimere Smith est né le 18 octobre 1982 à Camden aux Etats-Unis. Il a des origines afro-américaines et chinoises. Chanteur et parolier de R&B et de Pop, il est l'une des dernières découvertes du prestigieux label Def Dam, référence du rap US.

Issu d'une famille de musiciens de l'Arkansas, il a la chance d'être appelé très jeunes à écrire des titres pour Mary J Blige ou encore Faith Evans au début des années 2000.

En 2006, il sort son premier album In my own words qui se classe immédiatement au n°1 du classement Billboard aux Etats-Unis. En tant que parolier, il a à son palmarès d'avoir écrit de nombreux tubes comme Let Me Love You de Mario ou encore Irreplaceable de Beyoncé Knowles.

Son deuxième opus Because of you sort en mai 2007. Parallèlement, il travaille avec sur les albums de stars qui font leur grand retour comme Whitney Houston, Britney Spears ou encore Céline Dion.

Récemment, le producteur du groupe des Black Eyed Peas, Will.i.am lui a également demandé de plancher sur le nouvel album que prépare Michael Jackson.

Il fait également quelques apparitions au cinéma, notamment dans le film musical Steppin' de Sylvain White en 2007.
